Matt Duchene has been very successful in his short amount of time playing for team Canada. In the 2008 Under 17 hockey championships Duchene recorded 10 points in 6 games to help lead team Ontario to a gold medal. Then as captain of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament that won gold. he also was able to capture Gold as a part of the under 18 championship team. He made his full international debut, with Canada at the 2010 World Hockey championship by  recording a goal and assist, in a 5-1 preliminary round win against Italy on May 8, 2010. Matt finished the tournament with 4 goals for 7 points in 7 games after elimination in the Quarterfinal's against Russia. Though Matt is rather inexperienced in International Play, he is a very skilled player who one day could play a big role for team Canada.
